Welcome to Broadneck Soccer Club's (BSC) Select program. BSC Select is for players that would like a higher level of competition but may not prefer the commitment of our travel league. Select also serves as a good pre-travel program for those who may be interested in trying out for a travel team in the future, or are multi-sport athletes. The main differences between Select and Travel is 1) time commitment (due largely to the location of games/tournaments) and 2) cost. Select teams play in Division 1 of the Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks Youth Soccer League and, as a result, all games are played in Anne Arundel County. Travel (depending on division placement) could play games in Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. Select teams, just like Travel teams, participate in leagues year-round, including fall and spring leagues, tournaments, and futsal, however, the main difference again is the level of competition and the location of these leagues/events. Teams are formed in June through a tryout process. (No coach or buddy requests) The tryout schedule will be posted below once completed.

Cost: Player $300/year. Uniform kit $60/two years. We will do our best to use a 2-year cycle for uniforms. New kits will be required for the fall 2024 season. Player registration fees cover the spring and fall seasons. There may be other team-based costs (tournaments, supplemental leagues, etc.)

Ages: U8 through U13 (ages based on birth year)

Season: Early August through Early July

Practices: 2 per week in season (Fall and Spring) with optional out of season practices

Location: At one of the local schools on the Broadneck Peninsula

Games: BSC Select teams participate in the Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks Youth Soccer League. All games are played in Anne Arundel County. Games in the fall are traditionally played on Saturdays, and games in the spring are traditionally played on Sundays

Supplemental Leagues/Tournaments: BSC Select teams typically compete in local area tournaments and are selected at the sole discretion of the head coach. Coaches may also choose to participate in futsal leagues and/or hold supplemental training sessions during the summer and winter.

We always need new volunteer parent-coaches for our teams. Please consider volunteering to coach, assist or even help manage a team. BAYS is a 100% volunteer-run organization, and without parents like you stepping up, our children would not be able to play. You can register to volunteer similar to how you registered your child.
