Common Questions:

1) How do Community evaluations work?  When you arrive, your child will check in and receive a nametag with a number to wear.  We will have 5 stations for your child to go through.  Once they go through each, they are all done.  Although we allocate an hour, your child should be done in about 15 minutes.

2) My child is trying out for County.  Do they need to also come to Community evaluations?
No.  If your child is not selected for county, they will be moved over to Community automatically.  We use data from County tryouts to balance teams.  They are welcome to come to Community evaluations but not required.

3) Does everyone need to try out? Yes, with the exception of those who tried out for the county. Evaluations for community are only for ages 8+ and help us build balanced teams for better competition. Younger teams are formed without evaluations.  When building teams, players from evaluations are added to rosters first, so if your child has a buddy or coach request, although we try to honor all we can, if they attend evaluations they may be more likely to have their request honored.

4) Will there be a makeup date if we miss Community evaluations?  No. We understand fall sports and other commitments take over so we avoid weekends for evaluations.  With the tight schedule, we are unable to offer a makeup for evaluations.

5) Will my child be placed on a team?  Yes. All who are signed up for Community will be placed on a team.  Evaluations are merely a tool to help us keep teams balanced when creating rosters.

6) What if I have a buddy request, coach request, or practice night conflict? There are places to note those on registration. If you did not fill out or cannot remember, please email the commissioner prior to evaluations or notify us when checking in at evaluations. We will do our best to honor requests for ages 8 - 13.

7) My child has 12 buddies.  Can they stay together?  No.  We try to keep teams to 10 players when possible.

8) How are practice nights selected?  Head coaches choose practice nights based on their availability. If there are nights you cannot practice, please note that in your registration in the appropriate section.

9) When do practices start?  Teams are formed by mid November, with practices starting late November or the beginning of December.

10) When are games? Games begin in December.  There should be 2 games before winter break and then start back up after New Years.  Games should all be on Saturdays until playoffs the end of February.

Community - This is our in house community league where there will be one practice during the week and one game on the weekends for boys and girls ages 8-13, broken out into 2 year age groups. This league is designed to play other kids in the BAYS program, not other teams in the county. We will do our best to honor buddy requests in these age groups, but may not always be able to. Evaluations for teams in this league will be held in late October.

Practices: Teams will have a minimum of one, 60 minute practice during the week and will start in November. Optional weekend time will be available starting in January for those coaches that wish to have an extra practice. Practices will be held at one of the schools located on the Broadneck Peninsula.

Info: All Players will be given a jersey to keep. All Players will be encouraged to play all positions and afforded equal playing time.

Fees: $125

The age bracket your child will play in is based on their age as of September 1st!
