BAYS is offering unified lacrosse in the spring for all children with and without disabilities so they can experience the rewards of participating in sports while developing confidence, independence and self-esteem. Athletes will interact with peers and be a part of a team.

According to the Special Olympics: "Unified Sports joins people with and without disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

Registration for Spring 2020 is now open

When: Thursdays, April 2, 16, 23, 30 & May 7, 14, 21

Where: Broadneck Park, field closest to the concession stand

Who: Any athlete who is looking for a fun, social, recreational experience in a non-contact beginner version of lacrosse.

Age: Athletes ages 6-21

Cost: $25 per season includes a reversible jersey. Soft stick lacrosse sticks and soft balls are provided each practice to use from a grant from US Lacrosse.

Program:

We will be using the soft sticks program and curriculum as an introductory to lacrosse granted to us by US Lacrosse. No equipment needed! The soft lacrosse sticks and soft balls are gender-neutral, and are used in a safe, non-contact version the recreational game.
